Yeah all my bushings are new, but it's still a bit sloppy. Is that in the selector rod itself? I know there are the yellow washers, could that be the issue?

there's always going to be a bit of slop. The yellow washers take out most of it if you stuff as many as possible on there, but you're still limited by play in the selector shaft.

make sure you replace both of those. I'd say my slop is 90-95% gone
I didn't know the bushing in the shifter was replaceable. Does it just push out with like a socket on the end like a trailing arm busing?

I need to do that. Ill probably just order a bunch from blunt or Danny they're cheap as shit. I just hate paying more than 50% of an item cost in shipping.

@eric thanks man, I just hope it all goes through! The seller seems cool and I told him I'm very interested and not to sell them to someone else.
If you had a heater core leak, you'd know it very quickly. The sensors and wiring don't have any effect on whether the car runs hot or not. If you have some time on Saturday I can try and grab an inferred thermometer and we can try see where the heat is saturating. I assume you bled the thermostat when you put the coolant in? Have you tried a second time? Its possible you have a bad thermostat. I've heard of that happening before. Do you have access to the head bolts/nuts? If so, it might be worth checking/retorquing the head (must be done stone cold). Lets rule everything else out before that head comes off again.

so, I just bought a whole new shifter selector rod with a new bushing

came exactly like this. I'm sure you can pry it out with a flathead tho
Okay now I'm confused. Is the bushing in the Z3 shift lever, or on the tranny where the selector rod connects? Or are both replaceable? They're prolly cheap and ill replace both if I can as well as some new yellow washers. Should be pretty good.
