well you don't have to get it.... Its not for everyone. I never asked you to understand it......Also a underpowered car will slide but it takes much more work then a high HP car.... There fore I credit those guys with the civic motors! lol

I saw no drifting, just lots of understeer and stupidity. First off, you can't drift a fwd car in a parking lot. You can't get the thing going fast enough. The only way you can drift a fwd car is if you have WAY too much momentum and not enough grip through a corner, and even then its got to be more of a bend than a true corner since the car is really just understeer sliding from the apex of the corner out. Grabbing the E-brake doesn't count since that is just skidding the rear end around with locked wheels.

Am I a fan of drifting? No. Do I respect the WRC drivers who do it through every corner in the race, you bet. Can I drift a car? Not real well, but when I autoX the Datsun, I spend a lot of time with the back end hung out. Its what happens with a live axle, leaf springs and a detroit locker diff with some power and no weight in the back of the car. I'd rather carve the corner because its faster.

I agree. If you are going to do stupid shit on the street you deserve to get caught. If you are going to drive like a douche bag, at least do it on a closed course with no innocent people to hit. Street racing and street drifting have no place on the street. If you want to do this sort of thing, take it to a track where at least the traffic is all going the same direction and the appropriate safety equipment is required.

style points belong in art and racing should rely on science.

Who gives a crap about "style points" they are subjective. What I think deserves style points likely isn't what anyone else thinks deserves style points. The fastest time measured by a clock is always the winner. The person who does it cleanest and fastest gets the style points.

hey and I can respect all of that! The drifters live the race world a lot of them race on the off season..... You can feel how you want to about the sport I know what I like and feel no neeed to push others to "like" it lol
