paint in CA is crazy. if you can get the car to another state you could get the same thing at 1/2 the price. and matte is the hardest to paint. and if you dont have a perfect job it shows up soooo bad. Thanks for the lead! I gave the guy a call, $14-16 grand seems a little crazy, am I off?
I'm thinking matte black with two glossy stripes. I don't think a wrap could work because of the contrast bits. Does anyone know about plastidip painting? that appears to be a thing for matte painting (?)
what is your paint budget?Comment

So my FATMAT came in. I bought the "EXTREME" kind, 130 bucks on ebay. I've read what others posted about possible adhesion problems and have to say that I can’t believe there are products which stick better. Mine is the butyl type, it sticks VERY well. To everything. https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif Note that I sprayed some duplicolor truck bedliner (in a can) on the floor first, let dry and applied immediately after that. Here’s a shot of a test I did to check the

Just exploring options right now, don't really know. In my head it was $4-6k. I'm not a concours guy, my cars are drivers. Just don't want it to look horrible. I won't buy something that's rusted out, probably wouldn't bother taking the whole car to shell.Alpha Team Inductee

That seems high but paint is always the last thing on my mind so I'm not up on prices. Thanks for the lead! I gave the guy a call, $14-16 grand seems a little crazy, am I off?

Thanks for the link, I'll give him a call. I just called a shop in PDX (currently eying a car up there) and he quoted me a more sane ballpark of $4-6k for a good driver, price going up from there based on bodywork, door jambs, underhood, engine bay, etc. Sort of handy that the frunks on the things are coated, so you don't paint them. That seems high but paint is always the last thing on my mind so I'm not up on prices.
