Thoughts on port/polished m20 885 heads?

People say the weak point of an m20 is the head; making it flow better would only make it nicer, no?

If you have someone who knows what they're doing port it out, sure. If you're sitting at home at 2am behind a few beers and going at it with a Dremel.. less so.

i would only do this if i had the head full rebuilt with new seats and 1mm larger valves and a >272 cam

Well turns out I will be getting an m20b25 to drop into the iS

However, I have received a more than generous donation of SETA pistons, crank, and rods, so I am thinking of building a 2.7i on the side. Rebuilding an 885 will be on the list; I was planning on running a hot cam and doing VAC oversized valves/IE Rockers/Double Valve Springs. I figured a P&P wouldn't hurt either; I was just asking to see if it's really as huge a benefit as people say it is. I suppose it'll only make supporting mods (intake, cam, exhaust) that much better
