Jesus ! Ouch! Insurance of any kind?
Uhaul , Renters, Home Owners?
Location?
Home owners and uHaul insurance. But it's a case of not feeling safe anymore, and not being able to replace certain things like my brother in laws metals that he got from serving in Afghanistan. Like just fucked up. Fayetteville, NC
They found the UHaul with stuff in the back the thieves didn't want. The stuff they did leave they purposely trashed. Threw my sisters plates to her car in the back of the UHaul--it's gone. It's just shitty that not only do people steal, but steal from guys in the army. Like not only are they fighting so you can stay alive in this country, but they already get underpaid and then you steal shit from them like medals they've earned.. Scumbags
Not to mention they had guns in the car. Like I know my brother in law has or had an AK-47 that they took.
Sister was moving. Had a UHaul full of everything she owns. Trailer on the back with her car on it. Someone stole everything, ditched the UHaul. They won't dust for prints or anything. They said that's it pretty much. Pissed.
Don't know what branch your brother-in-law was/is in, but the Army has an Emergency Relief program for situations like this:
@SteveO
That epically sucks dude. That kind of stuff makes my blood boil.. She didn't lock the uHaul? They usually have trailer-locks for situations as overnight-unattended parking. Leaving stuff purposely trashed as evidence of the aftermath is like hitting the level of low..

It was locked. They broke in a hotwired it. It's just a chevy van at the end of the day..

I dont think the military is under paid. The amount of benefits they receive is insane. And how the hell do the thieves know this guy wad in the military?

So you think that someone sitting in a desk job should get paid more than someone risking their lives for that person with the desk job? Idk man. I guess it's how much you really value a life that determines if you think they are underpaid or not. All jobs have benefits. And even if they didn't know, they took his medals and then continued to trash the rest of the stuff they didn't want.
It was mentioned in an earlier post that among the things taken were personal momentos including military medals and badges. Thats kinda a dead give away that the person you are stealing from is either current or Ex military.
If there were personal effects left behind in the UHaul like shave kits with toiletries. Do not allow anyone to use things like toothbrushes. Remember a story where some people were on vacation and their room was raided by thieves. They took all of their possesions with the exception of a point and shoot camera that was left on a table.
So weeks later they develop the film to relive the better parts of the vacation. One of the photo's shows the ass of a big black man with one of the gals toothbrushes inserted firmly in his rectum. The gal had used that toothbrush for the remainder of the vacation as it was in the bathroom with her toiletries. She had no idea.
Are you saying "And how the hell do the thieves know this guy wad in the military?" just to troll me? Because otherwise you sound like a complete asswad who is sticking up for the thieves. Either way military or not they stole..
Yep , Sometimes life can be quite disgusting.
Thats why one should never trust any of their belongings after thieves rifle through them and seemingly discard items that they dont want.

I'm not saying the soldiers life Isnt important, cause everyone in this world is important and has a purpose. I'm saying that as a person in the military he has his housing paid for, medical, dental, college, his children's college etc etc The benefits they receive far outweighs their salary.

No im not sticking up for anyone, but the thieves didn't see this haul and be like "That is an army guys stuff lets steal it."
The way you worded your post made it sound as if they stole was partially for the reason he was military.
Also, if I ever decide to steal something and see some old metals I'll be like damn this person served, god bless him, but it's not going to stop me dead in my tracks and make me put everything back. I'm on a mission, and that mission is to steal.
