So in all other gears it will pull to redline? Really makes no sense since the ECU doesn't know what gear you're in.

I shouldn't have to ask I guess, but are you sure you're not hitting the weird speed limiter? I have no idea what diff and trans you're running but if it's something funky like a 2.93 and a G240 then 5500 could be around 100.

Furthermore, the fact that it's limited at 100 is troubling. Sounds like there could be an issue with the speed signal.

s62 is 4.9l and it makes 400hp
