Whats up guys, anyone know of a shop that can do a timing belt replacement for cheap? Local shop quoted me around $650. Somewhere around the south bay area preferably.

      650 is pretty damn cheap
did the belt break or is it just due for a new one?
and are you going to do the waterpump as well? they are the sort of thing you want to do at the same time.
two birds one stone kinda thing.

        $650 lol
I know guys down here that'll do it for $150 as long as you have all the parts. Worth a trip down to SoCal from up north IMO...

Just due for a new one. Other people have suggested getting them both done as well, would it usually add a lot to the labor costs?

Not a whole lot more, the water pump is just three extra bolts after you have the timing belt off. You have to replace the timing belt to do the water pump anyways

Contact RyanGMW. He's a bit away, but I believe he quoted me like $430 for tb and water pump.

Rule of thumb... NEVER get a shop to do your maintanence work. They charge a buttload and aren't e30 savvy unless their a BMW specialist shop

More often than not, there are plenty of e30 guys on the boards that will help you on the side for a fraction of the cost cause they'd just be happy having some extra cash in pocket

So I love how I look back on here once or twice a day and there is 4 pages of vivi getting smashed.

Also welded diff fucking awesome AF.

Welded diff are fun.. Except for the fact they allow for no slip. If you don't know how to drive with it you'll quickly find yourself wrapped around a tree with a snapped neck...

Just buy an LSD. The work invested in weldeds aren't worth what you get..

So boys. I just accidentally (ish) did a little burnout in my dad's red e30 as we were rushing out of trader joes to get home. I didn't have time to get a pic but i glanced back in the mirror and there were two fresh lines (swear to fucking god if someone makes a cocaine reference), not just one. It's an open diff....do they do this sometimes? I've seen plenty of one wheel burnouts with open diffs..

Actually there's really nothing in the past few pages other than a couple speed hole jokes and not believing I can make a skid plate.

$40 and a little elbow grease to get both wheels spinning and having a open 2.93 open for sell for $40 uh worth it. And atm, I'm rocking an eta so as I build horse ill get more and more familiar to the weld.

Also question ne one know why a sway bar would keep coming out of its bushings? Second time and I have yet to even beat the car yet?

Vivi......I had a mystical open diff 2wheel burn before I was so happy cuz I thought I had a 325es for a sec. Also if your leaving skid marks you should wipe a little more Lolz
