so that work-from-home gig i mentioned a few weeks back finally got back to me last night... they gave me a 3-question challenge that included writing some code in a language called ruby that i'd never messed with before.

Agreed, but like others have said, you can find them for reasonable money still. The big-to-do is to watch craigslist like a vulture. That's how I found my current 318. The one I'm proud of most however, is the 88' 325is I found for my friend a few months ago.
For 2500 bucks it had euroweaves, bilsteins, h&r springs, ST sways, sparco strut bar, and KMAC camber plates. Granted it was a bit rough but it cleaned up pretty good.
