I would say 500-800 depending where you get it. My friend got one recently for 600 or so from a dismantler.

Not for the M3, I'm buying your set up for that, but my E34's auto is finally dying I think. It's started to shitt hard down into 1st in "sport" mode and takes 2-4 seconds to shift into reverse after selecting it..

That's a damn good price. E46 ones go for $1500, which is ridiculous given its just a bell housing change AFAIK.
