We had a San Ramon meet a few months back. The thread should be somewhere here...

I suppose I should have guessed I'd like tracking my car as much as I did. Definitely worth finally doing it. I just hope I don't repeat blowing up my transmission two weeks before next time; that made everything come down to the wire.

Does anyone know if I can rent a car there (still only 20 and age requirements on random shit, especially car rentals, can be an issue)?

Auto? I don't think I've heard of manual trannys randomly goin out, generally. I'm tryna slap some r888's on the e30 and go auto crossing this summer; don't think anyone will let a convertible out on a track.

Save your money, don't buy R888s for autocross. They're track-only tires and don't come up to temp that well for autocross. Bridgestone RE71, BFG Rival, Dunlop ZII, Hankook RS3 are the tires you should look at instead. You'll be faster, save money, and be able to drive to the event without wearing down your tire.

And no, no convertibles on track without roll bar.

Thanks! It's been in the back of my mind to mount some proper tires, my suspension's pretty solid and well setup, brakes like a hitting a wall, but the tires reach their limits pretty early in the turns.

Anything done to it? For the last few months my friend and I have been fixing up his Mi-azda, so I've become "hip" as to the kool modz for these cars.

Just the lip for now. Picked up some coilovers tonight, Koni Yellows and Flyin' Miata 330/280 springs.
