Anyone ever tried that Hawaiian beer combo pack from costco? I do not remember the exact name, but the one that tastes like coconut is pretty good.

I did last day of STAR testing today. The EAP (early assessment test) was hard as hell. Glad that is over.

I will go anywhere as long as it is in reasonable distance.
I will stand in the back and spectate, for when I possibly do a swap ;)

How realistic is it that you will do a swap this summer.

            1. Do you have a job?
            2. Do you think your dad will honestly give you his vert that he just bought for $5K+ (i believe) when you have your own?
            3. You do not have a license yet.
            4. You certainly have not driven your e30 to its maximum capabilities.
            5. Swaps are very expensive, require lots of time, patience, and money.
            6. You do not have much knowledge on swaps yourself, so everyone would be doing the work.

Of course these are all just assumptions.

I shouldn't be talking because I am talking about doing a swap myself within the next 6 months, but by then I will have all the parts I need, as well as have done tons of research to do the swap. Of course I may ask for Danny's assistance if he is willing/wanting to give it, or I will go to other board members or my dad.

You're not gonna do shit. Neither is Sina. The only one who even has the means/time for a swap is Marco but he's a dumbass so who knows if it'll get done.

Whoa there guys (you too Danny) I was just throwing something out there.

                      1. Sort of. If detailing goes well for me I can make a decent amount.
                      2. He said he would, provided that I meet his requirements.
                      3. that has nothing to do with anything.
                      4. probably true, point taken.
                      5. My dad mentioned that it could be a fun summer project, he also mentioned that he'd love to watch/help someone do one. If he says it's a fun project, he'll be shelling out $$ no matter which car it is. For the record, he didn't pay a cent towards my car and doesn't really buy me anything at all. It can be done for well under 1k. A junkyard m50 from an e34 is like $160 (from the pnp site--no experience with how much they'll nickel and dime you) and I could just stick motor mount arms from an e36 on there at the time. Motor mounts and a brake booster is basically the only other things other than refreshing the engine.
                      6. hence the pizza and beer? I won't be forcing anyone to come, and what you said would basically be the expectation.

I'm honestly kinda scared to because of Danny's ref ticket. If one cop hears a BOV you're screwed.

Ohh, you want a throw-it-together swap that will probably be hard to pass smog/BAR requirements, if it even will.

Junkyard motors are about $400 I believe. And they do not include eveyrthing you need as harness's are usually snagged. I doubt you will get lucky enough to do one well under $1k. I would set my bottom budget at $1k for a swap.

And do it right or do not do it at all. If you wan to do a swap, and use it all the time, then refresh/gasket the motor, replace any bushings that need to be, hoses, wires, tune up..

They are not cheap. People do get lucky, yes, but you most likely will not. Just my opinion.

What? What engine swap that YOU are gonna do is gonna have a blow off valve?

He was talking about turboing my current engine. And I know nothing about turbo's so sorry if i was incorrect on something.
