Anyone know of a good yet inexpensive (I know, I know) place to get springs/shocks installed (east bay area)? Also what other fairly decent upgrades should I do while I'm lowering the car?

I say do maintenance while your doing all that. Unfortunately I do not know of any places that would do it for the cheapness LOL DIY with somebody off the board would be cost effective assuming someone is willing to help and has the proper tools.

Too late, I really have no way off fighting it anyhow. It was a no turn on red sign. And cop cut me a break because in actuality I ran the red & didn't obey the road sign.

What road sign is a $300 ticket?

No turn on red. Its a weird intersection that doesn't really require that sign but its there and I got the lesser violation so I can't complain too much.
