I just put a Brand new Alternator in it.
I had my Voltage regulator go out a few months back,and it did kill the battery once.


What Battery do you guys recommend? I dont want a Durashit.

before spending more money:
alt belt replaced @ same time? good tension on it?
check for dirty/rusty connections throughout charging system?

I was told that if you park your car toward a garage door/wall and see the headlights get brighter when you give it gas then dim when you lay off,your alternator is going out.

do it right, and put a voltmeter on the battery. if it's not more than 14v at idle, alt is going.

truth. i've installed alternators at were DOA before. it sucks but it's not like it's a hard job.
