                              Perhaps, but if you can sell the car for what you bought it for, or sell it for more than you bought it for, after having fun with it for however long, you are still ahead.

                              I'm about $50K into the Roadster spread out over the past 12 years. Can I sell it for $50K? Unlikely, but there is a chance that I could if I wanted to since it has all the rare and highly sought after parts needed to build a vintage race car. Still, I bet I could sell it for $20K+ and I have to admit, I've gotten a lot of use and a lot of enjoyment out of the car in this time period.

                              In the case of the M3, yes, I think I could easily sell it for more than I paid for it, and have into it. In either case however, I don't want to sell the car. I plan on driving them till all the spare parts available are totally gone.

                                but for the most part youll never see the money again, but its not about the money its about the car and the enjoyment.
