I need some advice on the best way to go about my engine swap.

I'm based in the Philippines (I know...a long ways from NorCal) and have a Jap version '87 320i 5-speed. The pickings are slim locally for a swap donor so I have to source overseas. To be specific, as close as possible to So. SF where my freight forwarder is.

Ideally, I'd like to get my hands on an M30B35 + tranny, get it tested and refreshed, crated, then brought to my forwarder in So. SF.

What would be the best way of doing this? Can I get a machine shop to look for the core, do the work, and bring it over to my forwarder? Or do I risk it and buy the engine + tranny and have it shipped over untested? Or should I make a trip there and do the legwork myself?

would you consider fully rebuild (stock or modified) M30 before sending to overseas? my buddy can build you one and we can ship/deliver to SF.

Didn't you email me about this a while back? I believe I gave you some ideas on base pricing. I have a core M30B35 engine I can build you. Stock or modified. I can personally deliver it to the forwarder (for a fee of course) once it's done.
