It's cleaner inside than my 540 but we're even on the exterior and I've gotten so used to the 4.0 in the 540, I might drive the 525 and be dying because of the power loss and not be able to live with the power loss but shit, it's a touring! If i do get it, and when I look at it on Saturday, I'll post pics and all that shtuff but I'll be looking for an M60B40 and 5 speed swap, coilovers, Style 66's and M5 mirrors. Whohoo!
Be smarter and easier to S52 swap it

I had to do this process in Washington so it may not be exactly the same, but I had to send a certified letter to the last registered owner to sign a release of title. The letter came back undeliverable, but it gave me a forwarding address (still not sure why they didnt just forward it for me). Sent it again to the new address, with a blank money order for $10 because they had to get their signature notarized. I got the paper back, then I had to take the car to get a state patrol inspection done. Once that was done I took all my paperwork to the DMV and had a clean title in my name

If you have a bill of sale from the PO that includes VIN, I think it's simpler here in CA. Show up to DMV with that and fill out a lost title form.

Yep, this is it! Almost bought an E38 with the V12 with no title but the PO was an interesting fella and really put me off of the whole deal. After I told him I called the DMV to see what all needed to be done and got a history report on the car, (he did send me the VIN), he flipped and didn't wanna make a deal with me anymore because he "trusted me" and felt like I "went behind his back without his permission" But yes, BOS, VIN, Lost title form and you're done!

But it looks like the guy selling it got it as a gift, doesnt that mess things up since he probably doesnt have proof he ever acquired the car legally? Kinda seems like a scam

Looked on DMV and the seller must attain a duplicate title.

The Bay Area PNPs are awesome. I've found two sets of euro grills and got my LSD at different yards.

Agreed.....you'll have the m50 parts motor for the OBD1 conversion, and you'll gain a bit of power with the earlier manifold. It's plug & play and the smog guy won't even notice the swap...hence no trip to BAR. Also the V8 is a tight squeeze at times for working on it, even in the e34...trust me. A 532iT, now that's just cool :-)
