I once met a guy who had P.O. box in one of those counties. He just had his car registered using the address of the P.O. box and had the box forward all his mail to his residence in the Bay Area. He said that it worked perfectly.

My parents have a house in Lake County, and lucky enough I got my new four door car registered there!

I do not know if I would say it is "smog exempt" as I believe you have to smog the first time you register it to that county, but then never again.

At least that is what is going on with my registration currently. I need it smogged once, then never again.

Sometimes check the counties because my buddies all got booted out of mariposa county PO boxes for registering all their madera county toyota crawlers and shit there. Does not help they are a bunch of idiots though

If you get pulled over and have been spotted before, the cop will give you a "fix it registration ticket" so that you are in compliance with California smog laws.

Generally, you have about 20 days to switch over your out of state information. (address change, registration, insurance etc....) Double check 'cause if you get popped by a douchebag cop, you too will see yourself crying for smog hook ups.


Oh btw, I am working on hooking up with a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend for some magic to be done and help us out :) it maybe a little pricey but you'll be up to par with the BS.
