Great Mexican Food, I usually get the Special Spicy Burritos Molcajete or Chimichanga, Both shrimp but their steak and chicken are great too. Their salsas and bean dip are really good too, I'm usually almost full by the time my food comes haha
i think we've both got the same tastes in food! we need to grab some grub together!!!
let me get a list going, it's going to be long so bare with me...

$$
Fogo De Chao
if you're feeling like a baller and want to try the best damn flavored meat ever, go here. best of all, it's ayce. seriously the tastiest damn meat you'll ever eat. the brazilians definitely know what they are doing... lunch is significantly cheaper, so go then if you don't have nearly $70 per plate. located in beverly hills.
$$$$
SushiStop
fantastic cheap sushi. seriously, nearly everything on the menu is $2.50 or $2.75 (varies upon location). they even started selling beer on tap for cheap. cash only. they have various locations so look them up!
$
Phil's BBQ
hands down the best bbq place around. they are absolutely amazing and if you haven't tried it then you are seriously missing out. located in san diego so if you are down there, make sure you stop by. plan on getting there early as the line sometimes wraps around the entire building and could be up to an 1.5-2 hour wait.
$$
Road to Seoul BBQ

$$
Gushi
great korean food located right next to ucla. short ribs are great. cash only!

$
Mercado Buenos Aires
great place for some good, authentic style argentine empanadas, milanesa, asada, etc. dine in or take out. plus they have a little mini mart with stuff imported from argentina. don't forget to get some chimichurri with that!! nothing like homemade, but hey, it's as close to authentic as you're going to get! located in van nuys.
$-$$
Midori Sushi
great ayce sushi place. usually end up eating about $100 worth of sushi between me and my lady (yeah, we're big eaters). my favorite roll is the mclovin roll! various locations so look them up; usually on ventura.
$$
The Boiling Crab
amazing seafood! usually get about 4-5 pounds of shrimp with the a friend or the lady and then get it with all their flavors, called the "whole-shabang" and some spices and some corn on the cob in the bag with the shrimp and their cajun fries. make sure you were the bib, it's messy but so worth it! various locations, look it up!
$$
Monte Carlo Deli & Pinocchio's Restaurant (aka Pinocchio's)
probably my favorite authentic italian restaurant. not fancy, but super damn good. their pasta (they put TONS of sauce and their garlic bread is super good!), pizza, and sandwiches are great and pretty decently cheap. plus they have imported italian foods, gelato, and drinks, etc. located in burbank.

fantastic whole in the wall authentic mexican food. probably my favorite i've had out here in the valley. used to go there every day for lunch when i was working nearby.
$
Lala's Argentine Grill
fantastic argentine restaurant if you're nearby! parking is hard to get unless you get valet. i personally know the owner of the restaurant and he's always there going up to people and talking to them and making sure everyone is satisfied. definitely a place to bring your girlfriend. their empanadas are fried and not bad at all. steaks are super good too as well as their chimichurri sauce! located on ventura in studio city.

$
San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurant
seriously, if you don't go and get their shrimp tray, you are missing out so bad. can be a bit pricey if you order a lot of pounds, because shrimp by the pound isn't cheap that fresh... location is obvious, san pedro.
$$
Krua Thai
great thai food place! located in north hollywood. very close to castro's. i love getting the spicy chicken curry and rice!

Hell yeah Travis, We gotta go hunting for new places. I can't believe I forgot Zankou, I've been going there forever. The extra garlic is a must.
Another place I forgot is
Cavaretta's Italian Deli
Located on Topanga and Sherman Way
$
Love this place, Family owned and they have anything Italian that you could ever want. Great Sandwiches or you can buy meatballs and bread and take it home and make yourself a feast. My favorites are the Italian Sub and Roast Beef/Cheddar. Don't forget to get a desert either, go for the canoli.

All you valley folks and no one's mentioned Pita Kitchen on Van Nuys/Ventura??? Been missing that place like crazy since I moved.
Gjellina in Venice on Abbot Kinney is awesome.
If you're around my hood (and I do mean HOOD lol) Mike's Deli on Slauson and Fairfax.
Cole's, downtown on 6th and main has the best french dips around. They make Philippe's look like Arby's. Also a pretty cool pair of bars there too (bonus!)
TONS more places I want to add. However, it's dinner time and I'm off to Versailles!
I miss the old BMWComment
