Great thread idea. Here are my additions,
The Garden Cafe on Woodman in Sherman Oaks. Highly recommended. Amazing burgers. I hear the mac n cheese is great. They also have a good selection of gourmet pizzas. I assure you, you won't leave disappointed. Bonus-- great place to take a date. They even have a patio area with really comfy seats.
Al Amir Lebanese Cuisine on Laurel Canyon in Sherman Oaks. Great all around mediterranean food.
San Carlo Italian Deli on Mason in Chatsworth. It's been a while since I've last been there. They whip up some fantastic sandwiches.
The Slaw Dogs on Ventura in Woodland Hills. I believe they have another location somewhere in Pasadena. They serve burgers too but their dogs is where it's at. One of the better hot dog joints in the area.
More Than Waffles on Ventura in Encino. Excellent joint for breakfast and brunch. Don't be surprised if the wait to be seated is over 30-40 minutes. Guarantee you won't regret the wait.
Tamarind Avenue Deli on sunset in LA. Great sandwiches with a nice assortment of bottled sodas. I'm a fan of their #2 which if memory serves me correctly is a turkey sandwich. On the pricey side but definitely worth it.
Last but not least, Dickey's on Reseda in Northridge. Love this place! They're beef brisket and sausage is off the hook. Been frequenting this place as of late.Comment

dickey's is overpriced. why not to rogers rib shack which is right next to it?

I've always passed by this place and never thought much about it-- I'll have to try it soon. Didn't realize dickey's had a competitor less than a mile away. That probably explains the massive ad just north of Parthenia, hahah.Comment

dickey's isn't a competitor, or at least i don't think so. lol. dickey's is still fairly new and more of a fast food place. roger's rib shack is a genuine bbq restaurant.

Not seeing much in the OC in here. I'm new but here's my list so far
BBQ220
Superior ave, Costa Mesa
$$
Real good BBQ sandwiches, good portions, nice workers. Try the brisket sandwich and homemade 5 cheese Mac an cheese and load them both up with the supplied sriracha
Ma Dee Thai Kitchen
17th street, Newport Beach
$
Best Thai food I've found here so far. Super hole in the wall place, it's in the end of a strip mall. Try the yellow curry, 4 star
Brix Delicitissan
PCH, sunset beach
$$
Interesting place, looks like a classy Italian place from the outside, a tavern from the inside but has food straight out of NYC. Big servings, but the food is so good you'll want to get more still. Try the pastrami.
Not sure if it's a chain or not, but
The Habit Burger
Corner of Adams ave and Harbor blvd, Costa Mesa
$
Super good fast burger place (not fast food though). $4 gets you a double cheese, and it's so good.
I'll get some pictures up next time I go to these places.Byron
