    Stop paying duties

As these vehicles are older than 25 years, duties on car parts are exempt by Tariff Item 9966.00.00 no matter the location of origin. Make sure the seller states this code on the shipment and you should be good to go

    More info:
    https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publicat...15-20-eng.html
    https://www.iemotorsport.com/international-policy/ (bottom of page)

    Edit:

<strikethrough>Made a purchase through Pelican Parts and asked to claim HS code 9966.00.00 to avail. Will try and get reimbursed from the CBSA and will update on that when I find out.

It might be easier to ask the seller to declare it under Tariff Treatment D10-15-20 as it seems to be a section that would could be classified on as well and was shown on my FedEx receipt.</strikethrough>

I was wrong and didn't have to pay duties, my foolish self thought duties included taxes

Wow, great thread, crappy title that looks like spam unfortunately! Would have been nice if this were made even slightly more clear at any point in the past. CBSA and customs charges are garbage.

Yeah definitely realized I screwed up the title but the second I found out I wanted to get the word out. It was pure luck I came upon it.

I've had zero luck getting companies to go through the effort of doing this so far.
If anyone has luck with this, please report back lol

If the company doesn't go through with it you can still submit a claim, make sure to keep your receipts

Wish I knew this about 10 years ago. Could have literally saved thousands.

Will try it on future orders, thanks for the tip!
