The free way is gonna be a fucking nightmare to use for the picnic.
Im getting more info tomorrow morning.
Were talking traffic for 10 miles in many areas. 1-3 delays. It was in the paper the other day.
Sorry to be vague. But I wanted to warn people ASAP. Alternate routes have been given by WSDOT. Im searching their site now.
EDIT:
Areas there working. I want everyone to know and Im waiting on a call back from WSDOT in the morning. to see what speed limits etc are on the detour and how long it takes. Ive heard some say that you might have to go to seattle then tacoma.
It appears that work might not happen on June 26-27 BUT there is about a huge chance lanes will still be closed for concrete to dry
Motorists can expect night and weekend lane and ramp closures on I-5 in Thurston and Pierce counties.
Backups can be expected. During construction there will be a total of nine weekend closures.
Weekend lane closures on I-5 between Martin Way and Mounts Road could create up to 15-mile backups.
Weekend lane closures on I-5 between Gravelly Lake and 48th Street could create up to 10-mile backups.
September 2010: Project scheduled for completion.
Total funding from all sources - $8.4 million
