OK, bring your tools....the silver IS is waiting for a clutch job (throwout bearing shot), and the IX is on the operating table awaiting suspension parts (which I will be picking up this week)

my daughter drives her '91i to school so that won't be there, and I'll be driving the vert

    Just kidding about the tools...

What are you having trouble with? I saw you have one of those Harbor Freight Ball Joint tool's, the ball joints are usually a PITA on those.

I know how that goes. My biggest problem was the tie-rod end and the control arm. They did not want to budge. However, when I used the tie-rod end lifter that I picked up from NAPA properly the control arms ended up being a breeze. It only took a couple hours.

Well, the project started as simply replacing the control arms and strut inserts....

I had picked up some decent used ca's on my last trip to Germany, and bought a pair of new Billy hd's...I thought I was good to go. But when I tore into it, I discovered all the ca nuts were rusted so bad, the impact tool simply spun them in place, and I had to cut them off. The strut inserts were also in poor shape, and the nut cutting forced me to replace the tie rods too. I now have a used set of struts and tie rods. I'm waiting to receive new wheel bearings and ca bushings to finish the job. It's been a bear of a job, but it will be worth it.

I'm in Ann Arbor- '90ic black on black- usually parked on Liberty street downtown. Never post or anything since I really don't have much to contribute, but have a big climate controlled warehouse and tools and am usually cool with people.

pangeapiercing, do you want me to add you to the map?
