I caved and bought another set. If Greg comes through with his set, I guess I'll sell them, but I'd prefer that he just give me a partial refund, unless we can work out some sort of trade.Comment

If anyone talks to Greg, I would like to hear from him about his proposed resolution. I sent him a text asking how he wants to resolve this, but no reply.
I am even willing to consider parts in trade as opposed to cash.Comment

I don't like rolling up on someone at work, but it may come to that.Comment

Well, the saga continues. He told me 2 weeks ago that he did not get paid for 2 weeks, so I asked him about parts that he might have that I could take in trade. No reply. Then I asked him specifically about a spare seat that he has. He always says he still has it, but that is it.
He also tried to tell me this weekend that he never promised me the mounts, but I still have a PM where he says that he has them and "will take $200 for all."
Also this weekend, he tells me he is strapped for cash. Yet he just bought that blue vert, a set of RKs, and a ton of parts that I saw sitting at his shop when I got the bumpers. No wonder he is strapped for cash...
Every time I text him, he responds until I press him for how he wants to resolve it. I asked him 3 times for pics of the black vert sport seat that I'd potentially consider as a solution (partial or whole- depends on condition), and every time I ask for pics, he stops responding.
He offers the seat as a resolution, but won't provide pics.
If it would not jeopardize my job, I'd just go to his shop and collect some collateral. If I really felt that he was trying to resolve it, I'd be more patient. This has gotten pretty bad. It is not worth my time to drive up there just to confront him, but I suppose I don't have much else in the way of options but to drop in one day as I pass by for work.Comment

Sadly to say nobody here is shocked that things turned this way. It wasn't so much why it happened but when it would. I don't think you want to go thru the hassel and cost of court. Just keep the pm saved in the event you need it. Go to his shop with the best of intentions and play it by ear.Comment

Yeah, I'm not going to go up there and threaten to fight him or something, but he owes me $60. It is that simple. Filing fees are $35 for court, so that is not worth it.Sadly to say nobody here is shocked that things turned this way. It wasn't so much why it happened but when it would. I don't want anything more than what is owed to me or an acceptable substitute. I'd consider that seat, but I need to see it first. I would not really say that the seat is worth $60 to me, but something is better then nothing.Comment

I just saw on NASIOC that he was looking to buy some track pads for his WRX. A guy I know actually gave him a set, but I am interested to see what money he was going to use to buy pads when he is not responding to me.Comment

This is a classic case of understanding human tendencies.
- pay for a product and only receive incomplete item.
- he received cash in full, and there is no recourse cause it was cash exchange.
- paying you back is on the last of his priority.
Just go up there and talk to him in person. Its one thing, he keeps you on his last priority and blowing you off because he already got his cash, its another if he outright tells you 'I'm screwing you over, deal with it'.Comment

To be honest, I did not think about the mounts until I had paid, and with him having been a member here who I was referred to (not a random guy with 25 posts who PMs me at random), I went and trusted him. It is no different than sending a seller a payment and trusting that they will ship the part. This is a classic case of understanding human tendencies.

I should not have to drive 2 hours each way to talk to him in person. What if I get there and he still does not have the money on him?
He owes me fair market value for the parts. End of story. It isn't that he is telling me he does not intend to pay, but until he does, he damn sure should not be on forums with WTB posts looking for parts.Comment

I disagree, you pay online with paypal you have recourse or claim. Hassle but you have ability to claim. There is paper trail. But I agree with you, that it is his fault, Im just stating that I've ran into alot of these situations when I first got my e30 and have learn the hard way, but luckily my purchases were not big ticket items.
not likely, its greg we are talking about here. hahaha.Comment
