Yea, but then you'll have a garage to fill back up again with a lift and air tools and then eventually more cars and toys.

So does anyone know how involved the process is to get keys made at the BMW dealer? I have a car, but no keys.

Only need for dealer/shop is when the key has electronic ignition lock code built into it, and new keys need to be 'coded' to your car to work (PITA, this is). But an E30 or E28? Locksmith/screwdriver.

Yep, which is 1996+ E36s, some 1995s, and a few other pre-95 cars I think, but not many.

What? no! I am not locked out of the car, I and the previous owner physically do not have the key. Supposedly he just had one, but his son took it (he is 3) and now it is nowhere to be found. No original key, nothing to copy from.

I just want keys made so I can use the dang car. I don't want to break the ignition cylinder with a screwdriver, I just want to have keys for my car.

And pics will happen when I go get the car. I didn't take pics, and the FS ad is deleted.

proof of ownership and the VIN, they can have a key made from records.
