              Definitely no on the M50. Talk about a pointless swap (imho).

              S50s and M52s blow head gaskets like crazy, S52s don't like to go above 7k.

                Solution: S54.

                S50s killing head gaskets I think is another case of the internet exaggerating an issue.

                              That older guy at HPR had 338k and the engine looked brand new still. But he works at a shop, that's cheating.

                                Dad's E28 is at 231k, he bought it with 0 miles. Odd clutch issue aside, it still runs like a champ! It's seen over 3000rpm only a few times, engine is basically new.
