So my trunk is fubar'd, the paint is really bad. A year ago I tried to see if putting wax on it would make it better and it messed it up even worse. So I'm thinking of wrapping it in some carbon fiber di-noc vinyl or matte black. What do you guys think?



I also thought about doing the rusted look that some cars are doing lately to see how it looks

Mini is a 73' Mini 1000 I've had for about 2.5 years now

no CF wrap, that would be retarded. I bet if you wet sanded and buffed, it would turn out perfect. Do 1500 grit first, then 2000, then 4000, maybe you can skip 2000, then buff w/ cutting compound.

Tim hooked me up with the paint, but it isn't that expensive.

Sweet Mini. My neighbor has a 73 left hand drive Cooper S w/ 43K miles Union Jack and all. He works for land rover and retrofitted ABS, A/C, and airbags. Moved to LA to work for cooperate and uses it as his daily driver.

No rust. Please no rust. It's possibly detailable, you'd have to do some CAREFUL wetsanding, and then polish it out.

Or just repaint it with materials from painter's supply. Prep is everything, and be sure to do thin coats.
