Looks like I can do some optimizing of the cam timing, it's dropping off around 5200 by 10-15 ft lbs. The cams seem to be limiting things above 6200 rpm anyways, but I'm wondering if there is anything I can to with adjusting the cam timing to reduce that loss without losing any midrange.

Video of first three pulls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5ASOK_PFjQ

In the video, you can see a little oil burning after I let off the throttle. I saw the reason for this when I was swapping the header, one of the exhaust ports had oil in it... Likely a valve seal problem. I'm not happy about this, I will be talking to the machine shop that did the head.

Overall, pretty pleased with the power levels... And it looks like with a little work I can get even more.

yeah... he said he had about 20 serious offers within the first 12 hours of the posting, that means 8pm to 8am. He said he was only able to get back to ten of the people that emailed him, and he was overwhelmed by how many people were emailing him.

I think what happened is he ended up selling it to me because he liked the rally idea so much. He had intended to build a rally Talon TSi at one point for Rally America. Keep in mind, I also paid $200 OVER the asking price for this car.

Yeah, the body of this car is rough. The paint is crap and there is some surface rust in places, and that dent in the rear quarter. Also, the motor burns a little oil. It does run and drive great though, and has a TON of nice parts. Which of course is perfect for an epic rally build!

Amazing. I'm getting evil ideas right now. Sucks about the head though!

Clark and I were thinking that the S50 cams are a fair bit more aggressive than the S52s, simply because at idle there is a fair bit of audible lope and burble. Whether that's the cams or something else, I dunno, but it very well could be.

I will have a chance to measure them side-by-side soon. I'll check.

I'm hoping I can just replace those two valve stem seals and resolve the issues. If I have to pull the head off again, I will be an unhappy camper. And I won't be out any money for parts.

That's really slick Chris... Can anyone explain the correction factor thing to me?

Car sounds awesome Chris. Pretty good #s too without a proper tune. That's quite unfortunate about the head tough.

Dudes I cut the clamps off my tie rod boot and it was filled with power steering fluid. Like enough to explode in my face and make a 12" diameter puddle. I'm thinking my rack is fucked. Although my steering has been normal and other than a slight top off my reservoir hasn't been low.

Only one - And the exhaust is so loud that it's hard to tell intake from exhaust. This was the 4th pull.

Might take a minute for YouTube to process it.
