I think you just got lucky. My two speeding tickets (which I got down to non-moving violations), from when I was 17, are still there. Almost 3 years later.

When I was 16? I got pulled over for 40 over. Yep, lost my license. However I don't think it's on my record anymore. It was a long time ago and in Iowa. My current insurance didn't say anything and I get the "good driver" discount too. There must be a timelime on it.

Yep. I stopped speeding like that right after that. I haven't got pulled over at all either. I was "lucky" and was on my parents insurance so it wasn't out of my pocket, young and dumb. I enjoy my cheap insurance now and don't want to get pulled over to ruin that.

Don't get me wrong, I still speed and spend a lot of time sideways, but age seems to help with getting off with tickets and insurance rates in general. I still get pulled over on average a couple of times a year. From what I can tell, Golden Police seem to let you off as long as you're not drunk! I supose it helps too that I use my canadian license in the US and my US one in Canada...

I haven't been pulled over here yet so I am still a bit worried. In Iowa they have nothing else to do but pull you over for going 3+ over and will ALWAYS issue a ticket. I still have that burned into my head so I usually keep a "normal" speed. No 20+ over anymore.

I kept a Utah license for years to avoid tickets reporting to my insurance or being added to my NDR through my home state. They are still usually added, but sometimes fall through the cracks. I got a CO license this year because I read that UT and CO had reciprocity. I speed, but try to keep it reasonable. I try to employ historical data, visual scanning, and a good radar detector. The uniform helps, but not always.

Dudes I had an epic day yesterday. Rode Boulder Canyon to Link to 2 laps at Betasso and back in the morning. Unloaded the bike and loaded up the glider. Launched at about 2:15. Only to got 9500, but managed to feel out a week convergence line and flew to Ralston Reservoir before fear of unfriendly property owners forced me east. Landed 10 miles north of launch just west of 93.

Full Story and more pics on the Blog. Ian I cruised by your house on the way up, but didn't see the wagon so I figured you weren't home yet.

Then at night I drove the Unser Karts on 1/2 price Tuesdays. I really wanted to break 19 seconds. It took 2 heats, but managed 3 laps below 19 on the last 2 heats and consistently brought my lap times down to the low 19's. Best lap time is 18.86!

                  Epic Day!!

Where's your place at Brad. I can make it a practice task and nab you an aerial shot in the process.

I forgot to mention I flagged down a guy in a black 318 because I thought it was you. He told me he was looking for another E30. I mentioned R3V, we'll see if he turns up.

Right by NREL. It is probably too far away to actually get a picture of. However when we buy a house it will probably be right on the hill or in Golden.

I want to go up there so bad. That has to be insane the first time up.

Alex - awesome! Ya, no wagon, no Ian..in class tonight. Amazing pics of the fire. Kinda to close for comfort, especially since I was in Canada when it was burning.

How do I learn to glide? I looked up a place online that does tandem runs. Is that where I start? Once the MBA is finished (soon!) it's on my list of things to learn.
