Yeah, makes sense...but trying to tell that to a hardcore E30 enthusiast, *cough* Sam *cough*, is like trying to convince a heroin addict that they should give it up for apples because they are better in the long run...

oh fer sure bro, don't get me wrong guys, I'm not trying to fight the "E30's are the best and only car ever needed on the planet" battle either, i'm just sticking up for the E30 here since it seems like there is so little E30 love in this here E30 forum! ;)

and imho, the E30 is probably the best BMW chassis for me. That means it meets my wants/needs in a car that I can be enthusiastic about, and is cheap enough for me. My other fav chassis is the E46 and E39, but they are out of my price range, so they are not the best BMW chassis for me.

I love my e30s. I have wanted an e30m3 since they came out (yes, I remember when that was). There are many other cars I could have chosen to own in a relatively cheap price range, but e30s are hard to beat (except with the recent craigslist price jacking, wtf?). the e36 might be a car I go after when they are older, but i do like the 'drive a slow car fast' sensation. I like the e30 design better.

I've driven quite a few truly fast cars, and while my e30m52 isn't truly fast (like my buddy's 911 turbo) it is a BLAST to drive. And, after getting the 318 and comparing the differences in balance with weight between the swap car and the m42, I might say i prefer the m42 in the twisties. It is so well balanced.

I'm a gearhead and love all sorts of cars, modern and classic. It just so happens that the e30 is right for me - like sam said. I'm after an e30m3 with a passion and I will forever keep that car once I get one, right now i'm just financially unable to go after it.

Also maybe an e39 m5, or a subaru wrx sti, or a supercharged e38, or a sharknose, or a '68 chevelle....catch my drift?

oh, and I'd drive the 458, fire and all. :)

Looking for a clean e30 shell for a project.

Putting an E36 engine in an E30 doesn't fix the main issue with the E30, if anything, it just amplifies it.

The E34 M5 one is at least adjustable, but yeah, :/
