I think the s13 really will be the ticket, they seem to be good on the track and I want to make one that isn't a drift car.

I did, but I think you're thinking too much of newer Porsches. Depreciation is awesome.

S13 will be great, but don't discount the Porsche just because of the badge. You can get quite a nice older air-cooled one for sub 10, or a nice 944/928 for around the same. If you're considering an E36 M3, an older 964 Porsche could be in that price category (Grassroots Motorsport did an article on buying older porsches, trouble areas and prices too).

Yeah, 10k is way too much for me. I was thinking older Porsche as well. Honestly, I think the S13 is perfect for me. I wanted one before the BMW and feel like I would really enjoy one.

2k or so for good condition and about 4k for really nice one from what I have seen. With and sr20 about 5.5-6.5k.

Nope, I've always liked eg hatch's. Cheap, reliable, economical...looks may not be for everyone but I like them.

Looks like I missed out... Take your time and read about the s13 and shit... I've never seen one on track that wasn't sliding.... If it were me, I'd still go German, but I wouldn't hesitate to drive a miata around track.

I already have one and the aftermarket is about 1/10 that of most any Japanese car.
