I don't know... I'd definitely be tempted by an L-39. Or an Su-27: http://www.prideaircraft.com/flanker.htm

I just read Ben Collins - The Stig's book and his favorite street cars of all the ones he drove on Top Gear and beyond were the F430 Scuderia followed by the Aston DBS Coupe. It follows the Aston bias that is convention on Top Gear and the F430 Scuderia speaks for itself. These were picked over much newer models too. That only strengthens the position of the F430 Scud at the top of my wish list. The S50 TR6 that made the R3V rounds a while back is close too.
As for a plane RV6 is the best bang for the buck. And the most realistic ;-)
Extra 300LT is the BMW M3 of airplanes in my book. A fast efficient tourer capable of sustained inverted maneuvers, super fast TAS, and very fuel efficient. I want one.
TBM 850 would be my choice for comfortable transportation (the M5 equivalent). Fraction of the cost to operate compared to Lear, Cessna Jets, even King Air. Much faster and sleeker than Pilatus, Piper Meridian. Short runway capable. Single Pilot, Single Engine, 320KT Cruise.JOY IS AN E30...

aaaaand now you see why grandpa built both. He does prefer the tossability of the RV6 tho, it's a lighter and better balanced plane in his book. I think he built the RV8A to fill a void he's had since he sold his dedicated aerobatic plane.Comment
