Except talk to folks who have that system, it's not as great as you'd expect. It functions as FWD except when it needs the awd, which is very rarely.

I thought the same thing, until our first accident. Kids are cool man... well your own kids are cool, others still kind of annoy me.

Yeah, she actually learned how to drive on a 96 F350 crew cab long bed... you know the old fords that are longer than the titanic? She also daily drives a 1500 for work, and while deployed she drove an F450 around Iraq.

What is so special about the golf R? Also I saw a new passat yesterday. Nice looking car. It had an R badge on the fender, is this the new M/AMG line for VW?

Oh yeah, we loved our MK5 Golf GTi, great car!

Are you talking about people with the latest version of haldex where it's pre-primed? All that I have read of the latest version is that it predicts what you are doing. So on launch it will automatically send most of the power to the rear BEFORE you actually launch. Same on exits of turns. It will takes speed/steering inputs to automatically send more power to the rear on exits of turns to reduce understeer. During cruising it is FWD which is better for mpgz, which I like.

Eric, golf R is a ~260hp golf with Haldex awd and upgraded suspension on the GTI. It appeals to me as a DD because of awd, 4 door, hatch, and sporty.

Either way they are all sold out so I don't really care about the car anymore.

Ha, no, my only real knowledge is from Yosei and his 04 R32. Sounds like the system's changed a fair bit then.
