I'm still adjusting from autocrossing and driving my scoob in anger. Thing had no power, but AWD helps a stupid amount when it comes to fast driving in that car.....thing just grips and goes. Driving the E30 and M3 all require completely different styles, and I still have by far the most seat time in the scoobaru.

After that first event I'm itching to race again, I learned an incredible amount about the car.

PM me for detailing services in the Longmont / Boulder Area in Colorado!

I just need to learn to drive. Even in its current state my car could probably have done 42s or 43s if I was competent.

Yeah, it's an addiction, which thankfully has no cure.

My car could have done 38s in the hands of the right driver. :(

It's all good. Seat time is THE most valuable investment you can make... It was apparent in the STi (but I didn't care, that car was STUPID fun to drive. 4 wheel drifts at full boost around big sweepers sure got some pats on the back in the grid area lol...) and even more apparent in the BMW. So... I might leave my parts buying shit as is for quite some time, just get the ATE fluid and SS lines installed (first parts ordered for the car, last to go on lol...).

I wanna slap what I have on, do some maintenance to keep it on the road, and buy up more guns.

            (David, I have a boner for an R700 now that I shot your dad's gun :) )

That thing's a fun gun, that's for sure! I'm not super happy with my 30-06, it's a pain in the ass to change mags. I dunno what model that one is though.

Seat time's most of the reason I'm fast in my Scoob and stupid slow in the E30. I think I might bring it to the next autocross actually, it'd be fun to race sts again.

Looks like you can get a new R700 for like $500-$700? .308 caliber, different from you guys'.

Bring the Suby, after it's shiny ;)

Damn, really? That's not too bad of a price. .308's essentially the same as a 30-06 for what you'd use it for, even though they aren't interchangeable. Makes the same nice boom.

I really want an M14. Like I need one. And an AR. And.......fuck.

Shiny Suby or Timing Belt though, that is the question!

My E30 spent most of 2008 on jackstands. I think I got to three or four autocrosses with it. Damn ex gf taking up valuable car fixing monies and time.

Ha. With my luck it'll pick the day before to need to go back to Cal again. Fucking e36. Day before the Gymkhana I had to make a frantic dash to ASW with that thing. E30s are soooooo much more reliable!

Both, you know I'm happy to help you out ;)

and yeah, I figured .308 was similar, hopefully cheap too. I'd buy that gun for probably 200+ yard target shooting.

I wanna go back and blast my .22 some more lol too...

                          O RRY

I've shot a lot of .308 and 30-06, and honestly can't tell a difference at 200 yd. It's not cheap though......

We should go blast more. I just need the next two weeks to end, then sure.

Yeah I hear ya. I need to do a little catch up and what not. I can find the time whenever you wanna go though. Or lefthand. Lefthand is always fun.

I'm gonna do some lookin into .308 and something like an R700

If I was in town, I'd work on the E36 for chipotle and beer.... next year maybe. Probably won't be returning to UW as I'm bored as hell up here.

But E30s are not as easy to work on. The E36 is much more serviceable, and I like the fact that they have timing chains.

Ha I'm not surprised, you come down so often it's like you're here anyway, might as well come down to CU and stay. :pimp:

                                Blasphemy!

.....Though the SS rear lines in an E30 are a major bitch. The ex wasn't super wild about watching me lie under the car in the gravel at 1130 spraying brake cleaner all over the underside of the damn car. I think my hair got dyed blue from that debacle. Car stayed on stands for a few more months, I think her nefarious "keep david away from the damn car" idea worked.

I do like how E30s don't have structural failures nor water pump issues though.
