No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.Comment

well we just been waiting for snow but it just doesn't!!!
or even hours by the time its gone.. sucky but watch we will be getting snow in late may :hitler:"So it was legitimately supposed to snow last night..." then you remembered you live in CO where the weather forecasts aren't ever right and snow melts typically by the next morning? It's "snowed" here probably 3 or 4 times already, but you've been asleep when it falls and it's melted by the time you're up lol.... Just gotta wait like a few more weeks, then the blizzards will roll in, always do.sigpic

^ says the tourist hahaha.
Seriously though, last year was a mild winter. This one is guaranteed to either be a giant waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles and do nothing or pwn us all spring long by snowing until June.
Oh, Sam, record latest snow is sometime in July. Colorado's weird, four years ago it dumped three feet of snow overnight during finals. Walking from my dorm to finals was fun....and most then melted the next day.Comment

iamcreepingdeath where did you grow up in MD? I grew up in Ellicott City. Left in '98. Glad I got the hell out of there!
I'm digging the La Nina winter. I've got more (MTB) riding in this winter than the last 3 and it isn't even January.
I read the NOAA Forecast Discussion every day (for both work and the possibility of it being a good hang gliding day). The models they use are the same ones most forecasts are derrived from. It's downright hilarious sometimes. If I see things like "the models are showing some disagreement" then I just write off the forecast. One time the guy wrote "I just don't know" - Ha!
If you want a little secret the aviation forcasts are usually pretty accurate. It updates more often then the NOAA forecast discussions too. They only forecast wind, cloud cover, and precip, but the times are usually close. It's good for planning if you will have a snowy commute, etc. Here's how to do it:
1. Go Here: http://aviationweather.gov/adds/tafs/index.php
2. Type KBJC if your in Boulder (Rocky Mountain Regional Airport) or KAPA if your in Denver (Centennial Airport).
3. Select "Translated" not "Raw Format"
4. Click METARS and TAFS
The current observation will show plus the forecast for the next 24 hours. You'll have to convert the times from UTC to Mountain Standard. Just subtract 7 hours for standard or 6 for daylight.
The great thing about Colorado is that even when there is snow in the mountains...

...the desert is only 6 hours away!!

I love car + scenery shots!JOY IS AN E30...

Cloudbase, didn't you come look at one of my cars once to buy? I can't remember which one for the life of me, but I remember the Mcoupe with the gunmetal wheels and angel eyes... maybe you were looking at my Alpine 318is, or was it my E23? can't remember....
And awesome pics btw!
Yeah I grew up in Newark, DE, and then Elkton, MD, and I went to school (for a bit) at UMBC, and now I have transferred to CU. definitely some good memories in MD, but Baltimore was definitely a stinky armpit of a place. No offense to Ellicott city, but where I lived (Catonsville), it was a pretty nasty area.
and BTW... it is legitimately snowing now! And i even saw my first subaru station wagon wreck of the year! Some subie plowed into the back of some SUV right outside my work. ha ha dang subaru drivers!!
(oooh i just pushed a LOOOT of buttons here! ;) )Comment

I don't think CO is colder at all, to be honest. Yeah last winter it was a little rough, it got down to 6 F or so for a week, (coldest i remember in MD was 9 F), but one reason i like CO is you don't need freaking AC in the summer because it is so DRY. Yep, it gets up to 95 F, but you don't sweat your balls off like you do in MD. One thing I REALLY noticed after living in CO for a year and then flying into Philly, when i got off the plane, I was instantly hit with the gooey, thick and sticky atmosphere of the east coast, and it really surprised me, as I got used to the dry, thin, and clear climate of CO.
And CA sucks. There is a reason that the influx of Californians to CO is much like the influx of Mexicans into the US.
By the way, Kershaw, when did you graduate, and with what degree?Comment
