It's always good to have a story to tell :)

2 years ago, my 635 smoked liked crazy when getting of the gas, definitely crazy, and something I'm hoping to have repaired going into this year.

Sell 635, pour money into your M5. ;)

Why is that a bad thing? Weren't you testing the high speed endurance capabilities of your new e30? haha sorry Aaron it was funny though.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

            I have thought about it.
There is something about the 635 that really makes it an awesome car. The Recaros, euro bumpers, dogleg box, sweet sounding exhaust... I really like the package even though the M5 serves almost the same purpose (weekend/fun car).
But, it is actually more fun around town without getting into trouble.

The M5 always seems constrained by traffic and the feeling of never getting to "open 'er up" and enjoy the 4-6k bliss on most streets. This will probably change when I don't have to drive so far for work. Not going to use the M5 for a commuter car 90+ miles a day.

Also, I don't think I'd feel as bad thrashing the 635 out on a lapping day.
Plus there are no worries of the timing components failing on the M90.

The plan is to work on both ;D

The problem was I wasn't sure where I was going but I managed to remember a couple town names that sounded familiar. It was quite comical in the end. I did learn my e30 will do triple digits for more than 30 minutes straight with no problems except the hood sucked itself down a little, but it popped back out just fine.

Still getting registrants, and right now E30 is the primary chassis represented!!

This is surprising as over the past two years, there were only about 6 E30's that actually showed up.

Hoping to get more r3v peoples signed up! Eric, are you bringing that new beast of yours?? :hitler:

I think there were only 2 E30s last year, mine and the turbo beast from New Mexico.

                      His wife and Ted's car.
But also the previous year was Pete's euro and maybe 1 other.

That's right, forgot about Ted somehow.

Just wanting to confirm the August 1st/Friday caravan. Should we plan to depart Park Meadows at around 10:15-10:30am? That will give all the late comers like myself ample time.

Is Park Meadows an ideal place to meet? I'm open to meet wherever. It'd be fun to take over a coffee shop parking lot at around 9am to gear up, grab caffeine, meet and greet, swap #'s and then head out.

Working on these details actually.Last year we meet at park meadows around 9:30 and departed around 10am towards CO springs. The idea being to leave earlier around this time so that we can pick up everybody and drive as a large pack through the Texas Creek outside of Canon City.

This year, we are trying to make our launching point Schomp BMW. All of it will be published with the route, the stops and timeline.

Another option we are kicking around is a secondary launch for people who can't make it earlier in the morning. The problem is we may not have a large enough group in the later afternoon (plus people wouldn't arrive until later ~9pm).

E30 is still the most popular chassis, but E46 are in a close second. Hopefully those not yet registered are clearing their schedule to make the event!!

Is there a plan for a backup hotel? They currently are fully booked due to renovations and did not give a timeline for completion for more rooms to become available.
