Works fine, it came new in box when he bought his car, and then got it installed with a tune, but his tuner didn't recommend it (?), and he seemed to think he would have to refill it constantly, so it sat partially installed on his car with a different tune, unused unplugged for the past year or so. It was used for maybe a week or 2.

Blewett pass is a fun drive with good roads, but if you're coming from Lynnwood I doubt you'd want to drive down 405 to I90

Why go N54? Seems like it wouldn't really be worth it IMO.

Yea S54 would be way easier but some people don't take the easy path

There are some cool things about the n54, it's an all aluminum motor with cast iron sleeves which is killer for boost. The electrical is very straight forward, which makes it. A good swap candidate as well. It's modern in an old car and I dig that. The 335i in our family has 80k on it with regular maintenance and no issues have arose.

                              The bad:
                              Carbon build up after 30-50k
Turbos seem to die after 70-100k
The motor is in a 2 ton chassis.

Boost at 1200 rpm is nice, the gas mileage is good, a lot of people pushing stock internals with zero issues.

N54's with just a jb tune are fast, and then you add rb turbos, methanol, and a front mount plus a 2500 pound chassis and things start to change.. Including the tires..

Edit: more expensive to run an s54 properly and an n54 can be found much cheaper!

I hope you swap the twin turbos out for a single, should be waaayy more reliable.
