5-speed swap on jack stands. Even at the jack stands highest points, using a jack, what is the best way of getting the damn thing under the car. I was thinking of using my creeper to move it under through the front of the car, than just lower it onto front jack stands leaving the rear sitting on the ground.
I'm doing this whole swap by myself, so any ideas have to be worked around just one man doing the work. I'l have 2 x jacks, 4 x jack stands, & only weight 150 lbs. & it feels like I'm lifting half my weight. *time to hit the weights again*
Thanks guys
p.s. Also will some wheel bearing grease work for the inside of the transmission input shaft? Anything on the spindle?Originally posted by James Crivellone1) The internet is NOT serious business.Comment

Just use some teflon grease or something of the sort and get the shaft nice and lubricated (no homo.)
Throw a work party together and I'll be more then happy to come down and help if I don't have anything else going on.'70 911s | '72 2002 | '88 M5 | '89 330is | '89 M3 | '95 911 | '02 M5 | '04 RR HSE

The G260 isn't that heavy, but doing this all on the ground would suck. I wonder if you could put a trans jack underneath it and help to support it in place before you lift it up onto the motor, that might be better.

I wouldn't mind doing a work party, but I make it a home cooked meal of my mom's barbecue baked ribs soaked overnight in Bull's eye sauce & Silver Patron, add a side of mashed potatoes, swallowed down with some good ol' beer or Crater Lake Vodka.
Haha it's going to suck, the biggest issue is getting the transmission onto the jack while laying on the ground. I am a tiny guy with hardly any arm strength from that perspective. I'll use safety & my brain & see what comes of it this evening.Originally posted by James Crivellone1) The internet is NOT serious business.Comment
