For a damn fender and hood? That's insane. Simply tell them not to do it.

If they don't take kindly to the prospect, pull a Stephen and flash your gat.

Not finished yet, but for those of you who are interested in a reenactment of Stephen's first case of rage:

Or let them total and you buy back for cheap. Fix the body yourself and have extra cash.

Not ideal but its making the best of the worse case scenario.

I WILL fight it. Not walking away without a clean title (if I can help it.)

I really have no desire to drive a salvage title car. I'll just part it and find a new shell if it comes to that.

That would be ridiculous, don't do that.

I'm going to go ahead and agree....who cares about the title? It's a losing battle financially, too. Consider the cost of your time parting it out (at minimum wage because, well...I've met you), your guaranteed net loss after selling the parts, the cost of a shell and it's associated repairs and then again - your labor re-assembling. Compare that to the loss in value as a result of a salvage title and repairing what you've got becomes a no-brainer.

Just fix her up. Its your car, who cares about a salvaged title, when its not really completely totaled??

I do. After all this car has been through, it's total bullshit to salvage it over something so fucking minor. There is zero structural damage from this. Why would I want to spend another $10-$15k on a salvage title car? Doesn't make sense to me.

because it's just a slip of paper that may possibly impact the resale? It really doesn't matter in the least.
