Actually, I believe the seller (if it's not the same guy) picked it up from another guy in Austin who had two for sale for a long time. Ryan and I had talked to him about buying both and bringing them back up here, but getting the time off, financials..etc. got in the way (as they always do.)

Any tips on what to do? I have been thinking of trying gunmetal to see if it like before fully committing. Did you get a kit from dipyourwhatever or somewhere else?

Glad you guys got it sorted! How was the long bolt causing a problem? Bottoming out before the deal was made? It must have been incredibly close not to notice.
