        /\ 6k is the norm for the s52 swap. But I did mine for less and have low miles :)

              buy a car that comes with an m20. sounds to me like you need to do some more e30 research before you buy one. theres no reason to buy a 318 only to swap in an m20.

                  the time and money it would cost to "upgrade" to an M20 would be better spent elsewhere.

                  hold out for an M20 car, which are pretty damn easy to find most of the time, or buy an M42, learn to drive the fuck out of it, then when you've saved up enough loot, and time behind the wheel, upgrade to M30 or 24V.

                  the M42 verts generally have decent enough gearing to make them fun to drive for a while, until you get sick of being smoked by astrovans.

                  my vert is getting an M30 in the next week or so. my coupe has an S52.

                      i was never planning on buying a 318 unless it had the m42. I know about e30's...I was just curious how much people spend on some of their swaps.

                        some people have swapped the m20b25 in for an m20b27, but even then you might as well just look for an i instead of an e.

                              You could turbo a 318, but ive heard the m42 isnt the best platform for turbo
