I just pm'ed you..... have a car that i was going to daily drive, but got an e36 instead while my real e30 project gets worked on.
1991 sterling silver on black leather (M3 front seats).
Fresh cylinder head low mileage block (105k)
timing belt/water pump BMW coolant
New ignition wire set and spark plugs
New cap and rotor
New sachs clutch set and resurfaced flywheel
New radiator and hoses with quality hose clamps
New bushings and ball joints
New tie rod ends (inner and outer)
New interstate battery
Rebuilt alternator
Bilstein shocks and springs
15" european basketweaves refinished arctic silver
Plenty of other stuff.... everything listed has less than 100 miles on it (besides the car and the seats)

my suggestion to you is this. if you have a $5000 budget, start looking in CA CL's, find a car, contact a local r3v member and have them look at the car, take some of that $5k and buy a one way ticket down and drive it back. the chances of finding a cheap e30 with decent mileage is far greater down there as there are so many more bmws per capita in CA.
