i have owned my M42 cabrio for 10 years. we will never sell it. it rides on OEM E30 M3 springs. i've turned every maintenance and modding bolt on this car. if you want me to help you look at any cabrios on the pdx area I'll be happy to go with you.

...much appreciated. I saw the "ix" and asked about them on the r3v forums and people just kept reiterating the expensive repair issues. The ones that loved the "ix" were the ones that lived in michigan. As for the other two, I am not really one for the chrome bumpers, although that 318i looks pretty sleek. Im in no hurry as of right now, I jus thought it would be easier to find a nice e30 plastic bumper 5 spd.

I want an m42 or m20 cab or coupe. I would be down to buy an '88+ e30 with diving boards, only because you can swap them out. other than that I rather keep my money. :D

my suggestion to you is this. if you have a $5000 budget, start looking in CA CL's, find a car, contact a local r3v member and have them look at the car, take some of that $5k and buy a one way ticket down and drive it back. the chances of finding a cheap e30 with decent mileage is far greater down there as there are so many more bmws per capita in CA.

                    for example:

Good idea. I haven't thought about it that much but what you just said could make sense.

...I have seen that vert in Eugene, I'm going to get a 5 spd and that is for sure.

High miles but you could do a lot to it with your extra cash.

What could I do with the high miles? How much would an engine swap cost, m20? Just out of curiousity, how much would an s14 or any other big time swap cost???

its cheaper to swap in an s52 than an s14, and you get more power.
