I would really like to hit up the tail of the dragon, i might be in, and by that time my motor should be fully rebuilt, and still looking to get some more miles for the break-in, so no r3ving for me RcWells

First thing, we need a set date, then after that everything should move along pretty smoothly. I am definitely down for a TOD drive, never been and have been hearing more and more about how great it is.
Let's make a decision on WHEN it will be, that way we can schedule everything around that and once the date is set in stone, everything else is easy.

Big meets always end up with someone reving their ride. That's a given.

Anyhow, I agree with Dave. Coming from the farthest of everyone down south, I'd drive up to VA and then hit up the Tail of the dragon on my way back.

                I drove to Atlanta before.

Honestly, if you drive ALL of Florida, by the time you hit GA, everything is like right around the corner.

If we plan on camping out then we will want to set a date in either late spring or late summer / early autumn.

TN gets pretty humid, hazy and miserable in July / Early August lots of bugs flying around that time too.

Right now is the perfect time as far as weather goes in this area for camping out.

From my understanding the use of the facilities at BMW Manufacturing in Greer, SC would not be free.

As far as meet locations Knoxville, Asheville or even Gatlinburg are ideal locations. Knoxville is approx 35-45 mins from the dragon. Maryville, TN would put the meet even closer to the dragon with serveral motels/hotels in the area. There's not too much to do in Maryville, but it is 15 minutes from Knoxville.

I might be down for this meet, but none of the proposed locations are very central coming from a south FL member. Even Chattanooga is a 10 hour drive from here.

I definately think the NE and SE meets should be split up, but if that is the case, the SE meet should be moved more south, central to the SE region... not in the same area where we were going to have a full on east coast meet.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

and logic steps in. NE and SE should be more localized if its split up. if its a single meet then somewhere more central is key.

Yeah, the SE/NE idea makes a lot more sense to me. As far as the more central location goes, I like the Dragon idea...but can understand that it's quite a hike for some FL guys.
