    HELP my trunk is stuck battery dead

    My trunk is stuck because I think the trunk need power to unlock and battery dead is there any way to charge the battery under the hood

    The positive terminal is on the firewall, the negative is on the strut tower.

    Why do that when all you do is insert the key into the trunk lock, turn the key to unlock it (horizontal ) and press in to release?

      It dose not work I have to unlock it from the passenger side it’s electronic so need power

        The actual lock cylinder in the trunk will turn with the key without power unless it is broken.

          Yeah, the trunk opens with the key and you press the button in, it’s mechanical. The electric part is how it unlocks the doors when you unlock the trunk.

          Can you open the driver side door? Do that, pop the hood, charge the battery.

          If you lock system electronics have completely failed you may not be able to open the fuel door, depending on your year model.
          My son has the 1987 325e, 2 door, 5speed
          I daily the 1989 325i, 4 door, 5speed

            Probably since the car is in canada the trunk key operation is all seized up.

            I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.
