SOLD!
'91 318iS Slicktop, Diamondschwarz, M20 Swapped, E30 M3 5-lug, Street/Track Car. Clean NC title in my name. About 140k miles on chassis, unknown miles on M20 2.5l block, 4 weekends on Bimmerhead Race head, 1 weekend on most consumables (brakes, fluids, radiator).
I'm the second owner of this car and have owned it for over 8 years. Before I spend way too much time prepping the car and making a ridiculous for sale post, I figured I'd post it up "as is" and see if anybody wants to spring on it now.
27 page build thread with thousands of photos: https://rb.gy/01hajq
Full list of mods: https://www.risingxedge.com/e30-mod-list/
The good: This is a well sorted and developed track car with some very nice and desirable parts on it. It was resprayed before I bought it and it's a very solid 5-10 footer even with the issues described below. E30 M3 5-lug and brakes, rare BMW Motorsport Group N coilovers that are fresh, 4.45 3-clutch LSD, new Bimmerheads Race head, Megasquirt standalone, carbon fiber parts, nice looking interior with 4 point roll bar, pretty looking partially shaved engine bay, the car made 175whp and 170wtq last time I dyno'd it. Entire build is documented in the link above.
The bad: The passenger rear quarter panel and trunk lid have dents from backing it into a tire wall in 2020. I hammered them out and they are fine for a "race car" but you'd probably fix it if you cared about those sorts of things. The frame is straight and otherwise has never been in an accident. The harnesses are out of date but OK for HPDE and TT. The tune could use some more refinement regarding the idle; it doesn't catch well when the car is very hot due to the 8lb flywheel.
It could use an oil change and new tires, but otherwise is track ready.
Included at asking price is a comprehensive spare parts package, and extra set of wheels and tires (15x8" Sparco FF01 with Toyo RR tires), both the carbon fiber and original metal hood, the carbon fiber and original mirrors, and any relevant spare parts that I own that are specific to this car (I have a lot of parts).
