They are all rust buckets at that price back there ,unless you come out to Cali to find one rust free that will last you awhile.;)Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

^ this is an example of someone who had nothing better to do than to go out of his way to type a negative comment on a teenagers Internet post. Funny thing is there're many people on here helping me with my search supporting the fact that an e30 can be found for around 1k$, so honestly waffleswaffleswaffleswaffles-boy, get off my thread.

Yea, even my Cali bought 1980 320i (E21) was rust free and pretty clean

A little under powered for me so a guy traded me his 1990 Mercedes 300CE + $600 for it. Though I had to drive to Vegas for the deal.Comment

Whatever the case... there are deals out there. Just be patient. Don't be in a hurry to buy a POS because that's the only choices at the moment.
I've bought many cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, even a dune buggy, in the past and always came out ahead when it came time to sell. And that's including time and parts invested.
Probably because I take care of my vehicles and not abuse them.Comment

My son & I plan to get it Thursday. In a small town in MT. Dead in the driveway - they want it gone.
It's got issues we can fix, but it seems solid. We want to do a 5speed swap since an ES is slow. I've read this forum for a year learning about them. Looked in Denver, Spokane, Seattle. Either you wait too long on the good ones, or the seller is just dreaming....like $2500, 12 owners, 250k, torn seats, mysterious past, no records (used car dealers piss me off).Comment

This was an 88 (AKA Super ETA) 325E I had over ten years ago
I purchased for only $1k
280k miles
Needed a new battery
and the tranny started slipping soon after purchase
but all it needed was a filter and fluid change and shifted like new
Still was super clean and drove well
So the deals are out there
Just have to find an owner that is clueless about simple maintenance
And thinks it will cost a fortune fix, so they sell cheap
The grill was painted silver, so of course that was the first thing that was repainted

Sold for $2500 a few months laterComment

I know someone with a 88 325is manual with 211k miles,
but unfortunately he's a car broker and asking $4900 for it
he even had the balls to ask for a straight trade against my 91 Cabrio
I told him, "no way that was ever going to happen
and you're asking way too much for the car"
I'm sure he picked it up for much less

Some idiot took the stock sport seats out and and put in some cheap ones
