The IE one is 9 dollars less than the Sparco one. Don't worry, I am sure mine will be built better and cheaper. This is a starting point and I need to get everything in a straight line first.

And this is another idea I have been playing around with is custom user names welded onto the center of the brace. So stay tuned, I am doing this for for us the E30 family =)

I have everything needed to produce these but the bender. I was thinking about making my own dies and using my SUPER large vise to get the angles of the piping. Not kidding on how big this vise is...I clamped down my med case LSD to break bolts loose on the output shafts when they were cut and removed from the drive train.

So my idea is right now to go with 1" 1/4(same size as my ebay alum one) tubing with plate steel bent to form around the towers. Anyone know of a steel grade that is best for making such things?

i don't think the dies runn small enough on the HF one.
i use a hydrolic version of this and it works well for clocking multiple angles in one piece.

i am not sure what you price range is though, but i went from a manual to the hydraulic and if you are doing volume numbers, it is the way to go and it allows greater repeatability. you can also find lots of them for sale used.

chromo is best , but adds to the cost. you can however build it lighter with a smaller diameter tubing. you should as so tig weld chromo for the best results.

Local shop my father is friends with(used to work there, friends with owner also) is selling a bender. So hoping to buy it, I will be making custom exhausts for three of my cars. Good to have =)

I sent you a message about the rear design and fronts in a PM. I am getting a new welder for my Bday so I am thinking about learning TIG. My father says it makes better stronger welds(he is a master welder). So I will hoping to get the new welder in a few weeks. I just have to buy tubing, get the bases from Matt-b to make the program at the machine shop. This will all be happening once my brothers repay me from buying their sets of wheels.

I am also going to make a cage for my track car =)

FYI to everyone that is interested in one, I will NOT be under taking this till after the 22nd this month(Gfest) I have two cars to finish in this week. If anyone knows of my stroker build, the crank and pistons are due mon/tuesday. So I am buried beyond belief with the vert and my DD that I am selling to a friend at the event.

So stay tuned, I have had me eyes set on building these for a good while now.

P.S. I am also talking to a water cutter to see about plates with the user name cut into it. This will be an extra charge. I just think it would be neat to have you noticed by your user name at a track while in the pits prepping =)

That is one of the main reasons I am making this. I mean you do a search for braces and there is next to nothing. If you find something that works it is made in China, backordered or wicked expensive. I am trying to solve this problem because I am a tracker to the core. I just get pissed when I cannot find what I want.

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

These are the cars I am putting on top FIRST:

24v swaps(I am making it off mine) At the same time on my brothers vert m20 stroker.
Then 318(all) and 325ix(buddy owns one)

M3 is last then the carbon fiber ITB ones. I will contact SickazzE30 when that time comes. I am taking one step at a time.

I am dead set on this, and the design changed. I know everyone will love it =)
