Attention all members on a budget...

I have about 10 or so NiCd battery versions of the post-1986 (coding plug) SI boards in great condition. They are exactly like the lithium version only they use NiCd boards. Their life expectancy is about 10 years.

$70 shipped each. $10 core deposit included.

I have an odd question for you...if I send in my cluster from my 91 318is to be repaired, would you be able to adjust the odometer? I'd like it to be fairly close to what the car actually has, which is roughly 250k. Currently stuck at 128k.

Only thing that is wrong with my cluster is the odometer and trip don't work. I'm assuming its just the gears.

I'll have my daily up and running in a couple of weeks, then I can send it in.

what's the difference in batteries? i have a '88 (pretty sure it's actually a '90) 325i convertible and the temp gauge goes nuts unless i tap on it frequently. also the SI light is always yellow.

Lithium batteries and NiCd batteries are two different technologies. Lithium batteries roughly last about 15 years and NiCd last about half that. Also NiCd batteries leak when they are fully discharged leading to board damage, lithium batteries do not leak.

SI board lights that remain on with the car off, is a sure sign your batteries are dead and will also lead to a dead starting battery.
