M3 seats recline farther than vert seats as well. Should I post a video or would it be useless because then it could just be said that the mechanisms, as well as the the stitching, were swapped?

Wasn't pointed at your seats, apologies, but the fact remains that vert seats have high levers and vertical stitching. m3 seats have horizontal stitching and low "coupe style" levers.
This was the cause for my post (specially the "clueless" part)....
It’s obvious that some of you are clueless about the difference between vert and coupe seats. These are M3 seats. Here are some examples of EAG’s $200k M3 with vert (j/k) front seats, haha.

Definatelly M3 seats, the side handles on convertible seats are much lower, the back covers are not interchangeable because of the handles location.Comment

Parts number for high handles and low handle seat backs will show you that the m3 came with low levers.
m3 seat back part number (low lever) : 52101922265
vert seat pack part number (high lever): 52101936623
coupe seat back part number (low lever): 52101922265
sedan seat back part number (no lever): 52101923444Comment

y'all are crazy, those are M3 seats. They have the long handles. Vert seats have stubby handles that are located lower on the seat. M3 seats have the longer handles (like OP has) and are located higher than vert seats.
The (thrashed) seats out of my M3. Note location and levers.

And vert seats (note lower, stubby handles)

The needles don't interfere with other functions.
You are right, wasn't paying attention to the sub-forum and this is "for sale". I tend to get carried way. :/
Either way, GLWS, seats are in nice condition and not an astronomical asking price for condition (just sold a set of iS seats for $650 in similar condition).Comment

So, part numbers are wrong?
HAHA, or you meant the stitch orientation typo?Comment

We are all correct. After some searching, the 88-up had the vert style handles and back but all m3 seats have the extra recline.
Looked up some old brochures. The pics in the 1986 brochure have the coupe style seat levers, 1988 had the high ones.Comment

M3 seats share the same frame p/n as a normal e30 sport seat which we can all agree has a higher and a longer lever.
The p/n is the same between m3 and reg sport seat, but you're listing it as "lower" when really it's "higher", right?Comment

I just know I have taken enough seats apart and swapped things around that there are differences lol. I work on e30's daily, but only couple m3's. One is a grey market all original, other has Vaders (**cough**), and one has iS seats.Comment

The OP is selling M3 seats."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

GLWS OP. Based on what I see, there’s no reason to doubt these are m3 seats.
Meanwhile, these are the two posts that started this clusterF and this guy hasn’t posted again to tell what he’s smoking.
