I'd love to sell my euroweaves and get something like this. Is the 3mm spacer required for the rattle clips? my front brakes don't have a rattle clip. I already have 3mm spacers to clear the front brakes with my new wheels.Comment

You might still need it to clear the front strut. You'll almost certainly need it to run anything wider then a 205. Next time i have my wheel off i'll pull of the brakes and see if it clears the strut.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

There is a nice set of style 4 wheels (i think that's what they are. Alpina style) in CL near me for $300. I hear they are forged and kinda rare.

Damn!!!
I just finished restoring a set of 4x100 16x7 et35 BBS rx's in nogaru silver with longer bolts and 10mm spacers w/hubcentric rings from h&r. I also purchased oem center roundels & mtech tire valve caps. If I would of known about the drill and fill of e38 weaves, I would of gone this route! Anybody wanna buy some professionally restored RX's in nogaru silver that are in very good condition with new H&R spacers and H&R bolts to fund some 16" weaves?
I've moved back home to New Orleans. No longer living in the Bay Area.Comment

Im sitting @ my computer looking out my front window thinking how nice my car would look w/ those wheels on it....Just to clarify once again, there are no worries about cracking around the inner lip?

No one on here ever said there was no worries about that.
By doing the fill and drill you are weakening the wheel. No one on here has done any kind of actual stress tests to see what the wheel will hold.
This action is done "at your own risk". No one on here can guarantee anything. So talk to the guy who will be performing the work and get his opinion.
Know that you will need to modify/buy other stuff for the wheels to fit. Options are shaving the anti-rattle clip & using hub centric rings, or using spacers and hub centric rings, or a combination of the last making custom spacers.-tim

Saw a e34 540it wtih style 5 wheels. I want those center caps soo bad. I tried the regular e34 caps but they are too small.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

That's because the m3 has a larger rotor which puts the clip further away from the center of the wheel. If our rotors were a half inch larger in diameter, they would not interefere. I was considering putting on corado rotors and making a caliper carrier extension like all the honda boys use. But i'll wait till my rotors need replacing before i try that.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Got my set of wheels - I'll go ahead and get things drawn up this weekend. it might be easier to just do a specific ring for these wheels and get some generic spacers made - always a market for those anyway.
EDIT - This should be cheaper due to volume of material removed, which tightly correlates with overall machine time.Last edited by Lurker27; 03-05-2009, 07:10 AM.'89 335is +turboComment
