When I first got my vert, the PO dumped it on cut Eibachs and off the shelf Koni's. It looked good and had perfect stance but rode like shit and bottomed out very easily. Excessive drops means you have to run shorter shocks and very stiff spring rates or there won't be enough travel for the suspension to do it's job. If the springs aren't stiff enough, the shocks will ride on the bump stops and eventually blow. You need to run short body shocks like the GC Koni's but they are pricey. There's a reason GC revalved those short Koni's. With this kit (or any stock body length shocks), I wouldn't go lower than the picture posted in the first post.

^^^ Right now my front is really stiff cuz i also put the 15mm drop hats on so if i go another inch lower wouldnt it be too much for the billy sports to handle? Wouldnt a 3 inch drop and using billy sports be extremly stiff and too much for the billy sports?? I never ran coilovers on any of my cars so I'm totally new to them.

^^^ After putting it on the lowest setting it will drop you 3 inches in the front and about like 2 to 2.5 in the back. Thats what it did with my vert. If I were you I would get them and use the billy sports with these coilovers

Anyone measured the max drop you can get out of these from stock height? My current setup with H&R springs and bilstein sports got me 1.5 inches lower from stock but i want to go lower in the front, maybe another inch. Can this kit drop your car 2.5-3 inches from stock hieght? Thanks in advance!

I don't know about the vert springs but the standard coupe and sedan springs are closer to sport then they are to race. I might be selling the springs only depending on how they perform after I finally button everything up.

Just pretend they are Bilstein sports and saying you want to cut the strut tube; same deal, you can't. You need a shorter shock insert to compensate for a shorter strut tube if cut.

The people who have done this before are talking about cutting/grinding the bottom spring perch hat so you can fit your hand in there and adjust up and down.

    Like this:
This strut tube hasn't been modified. It has just had the bottom spring perch ground/cut off
See the bottom of the gold adjuster? That's where the perch used to be.
Now you can fit your hand in to adjust with no problems.

    Hope that clears confusion!
    Definitely does!

I think I was thinking of the way einstein did it. Looks like you gain 1'' of drop over leaving the strut top on.

^^^ Does sound right for the spring rates. Keep in mind I have a convertible so its heavy and is probably making the ride a bit softer overall compared to if a 318is had this same kit. I'm not sure how to tell if they are gas shocks or not??
Those are practically H&R Race rates with the front beefed up +150/lbs more.

just wonderin... on the front strut install. the stock ones sit in the tube filled with oil, and to take them out you have to unscrew it to pull the strut out. but in the pictures his front strut adjuster is sitting on the perch. as my adjuster screws into the strut housing. where the oil is put in to transfer heat front the strut to the housing.its very difficult to adjust.

did i just do it wrong?
